FAQs

1) Do I need an order/physician referral?

The short answer is NO! In the state of Missouri you can receive occupational therapy services without a physician referral. You can self refer, refer a friend,  or get an order from a doctor/chiropractor. However, if you will be submitting your receipt aka superbill to insurance to request reimbursement you will likely want a physician referral.

2) Do you accept my insurance?

This is a cash/private pay based clinic. Not accepting insurance actually helps keep the overall cost lower, making services more accessible. You will be charged a flat fee which will be due at time of service. However, I will provide you with any paperwork you will need to submit if you wish to request reimbursement from your insurance.

3) Do you accept Medicare?

Not at this time. Currently, Medicare does not allow patients to pay cash for services. Therefore it would be considered Medicare fraud for me to treat and charge a Medicare patient for services, even if you as the patient has chosen to go this route. This is a federal law that limits those with Medicare on where they can receive services. If you do not agree with this, I recommend you contact your state legislature. As an occupational therapist, this is not my choice but the law that I must follow. However, I am happy to help find a clinic/pelvic floor therapist near you that does accept Medicare! You can also use the link below “home” to help find a pelvic floor therapist near you.

4) What does it cost?

This is obviously a top question! We all want to know the bottom line. I pose you ask yourself what is your quality of life worth? What do YOU want to be able to do and what is standing in your way? How much time and money are you spending on products due to your symptoms? (medications, pads, depends, specialists, missed opportunities, etc) If you have been living with pelvic pain, consistent low back pain, fecal or urinary incontinence, and other pelvic floor dysfunction then you know how many aspects of your daily life this affects. As a mobile clinic I will be coming to YOU.  The first visit is $155 with follow up visits $108. If you live 20 miles outside of my office location there will be a trip fee based on distance.

5) What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept cash, check, and cards including HSA accounts. You can also submit your superbill (receipt that I will provide to you) to insurance to request reimbursement.

6) What should I expect the first visit?

The initial visit is 60-90 minutes in length. Health history and goals obtained. Posture assessment, alignment, range of motion, and strength assessed for core, hips, and glutes. An internal/external pelvic floor exam may be indicated based on symptoms/needs. This allows me to find/treat reasons for pain, assess your coordination, and your strength. An exercise program/education will be provided from day one for you to start on your own.

You will want to have a spot/room picked out in your home that you feel comfortable (can be floor, couch, bed, etc.) Plan to have 2 sheets and a pillow nearby.
